Simply switch to this playertype, and you won't have to worry about some jerkface blowing you up while you're in the brick selector.
"Jeeeeeetz, won't an invincible* playertype be easily abusable?" you scream at me. No. When playing as this player, you can't do damage* either.
*You can still take damage by falling, and can do and recieve damage by evented bricks, meaning your traps will still be effective as you build more traps.
